The Children of Julien Button Young and Catherine C. Monroe

JB and Catherine

Julien (or Julian) Button (JB) Young and Catherine C. Monroe were my 3rd Great Grandparents. They were both born in 1850 and married on December 10th, 1868. They had 11 children.  Everything that is posted was either found online or in the possession of my Great Grandmother. If anyone else has any information and/or pictures I would love to see them.

Anna A. Young was born in 1870. She was known as Annie. She married Monroe Woodward and they had 6 or 7 children. She died in 1912 in Sugartown, Beauregard, Louisiana.

Frances or Fanny Young was born in 1872. She married a widower, Edward Blake and they had one son named Louis who was born in 1911. According to records, she passed away in 1938.

John Jefferson Young was born in 1874. He married Azima Azelie Webre in 1899 and they had 8 children. He died on October 28th, 1938 in Sugartown, Louisiana. He was 63.

Ralph Young was born in 1877. He died in 1955. The history that I've found is hard to decipher. It looks like he was married twice and had many children. Again, if anyone has information and would be willing to share, I would appreciate it.

Felix Young was born in 1879. He died in 1908 and was married to Josephine Edwards. They had two daughters, Ruby and Bertha and two sons, Dewey and Douglas.

Luther Dutch Young Sr was my Great Great Grandfather and was born in 1882. He married Francis Emma Walker and they had 3 children, Luther Dutch Young Jr (LD), Elsie and Esther. Ester was my Great Grandmother. He was a good man, and according to my mom, he home when he was 14 years old. He was a railway man, a good father and a good husband.

George Young was born in 1885. He married May R and died in 1951.

Hattie Young was born in 1888 and according to ancestry, died in 1982. However, there is no evidence, photos or sources, so I am unsure.

Nettie Young was born in 1891 and according to ancestry, died in 1969 or 1996. I'm not sure which. If anyone has information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cora Young was born in 1893 and died in 1972. According to my grandmother, she was the last surviving sibling. She married William Lainer and they had a bunch of kids...Leonard, Lenioux. Libbie, Lonce, Lois, Lonzo, Robert and Shelton (Pee-Wee). Shelton died in the Korean War.

Theodore Young was the baby. Born in 1895, he married May Agnes Lanear in 1914. He died in 1957.

My Grandfather, Ronald Blaine Stapley

A few weeks ago, my grandfather passed away. I've been thinking about him and the things that he taught me. One of my earliest memories of him was walking into the kitchen and seeing him eat strawberry jam directly out of a jar with a big spoon. I adopted that habit immediately. He would always have candy in his pockets and made my parents stop the car when he saw blackberries on the side of the road. He loved talking about Southern Utah and he loved my grandmother.

For Erynn's wedding, Patriarch Bateman performed the ceremony. When he saw Grandpa come in, he smiled and asked, "You kept the faith?" Grandpa nodded, smiled back and said, "Yep, how about you?" His faith was important to him and he was a huge example to all of us.

The thing I will miss the most is that when he left, he would always give me a big hug and tell me that he loved me. I loved him too.
